I can say without fear of embellishment that the City of Carver has something here for everyone. It is just minutes to the metropolitan Twin Cities area and is conveniently located for easy access to major routes. Enjoy a spectacular landscape, good schools, a charming atmosphere. There is a superb variety of real estate inventory, including Victorian-style architecture that pre-dates the last century. There are a number of splits, multi-levels, and ramblers to be found at the top of the hill just to the west of town. Several renowned builders are building new neighborhoods a bit further west. Throw in the fact that Carver MN homes are more affordable here than other parts of ISD 112, and you don’t have many compelling reasons for buying a MN home anywhere else.

About 10,000 years ago, glacial meltwater created a large river (the River Warren) that ran through this area, sculpting a grand landscape that we still enjoy today. In addition, this river deposited a lush mixture of clay, sand, gravel, and fine silt soil. Today, we call this river the Minnesota River. A gravel quarry is one of the more noticeable commercial operations in the City of Carver today.

This town is the oldest in Carver County MN. For many years its school system was called Minnesota School District #1. Most of the properties in the old part of town are on the National Historic register of Historic Places. Today, Carver MN is home to about 1900 citizens, and new residential developments have recently been established on the west end of town.

The city is resolute about preserving the historical character as well as natural beauty of the area. Carver Bluffs Park along Cty Rd 40 is a case in point. City parks dot the landscape of Carver MN. The parks offer many amenities, including baseball fields, and skating rinks. The new Lions Park on Limestreet will host outdoor activities as well, including softball and basketball.

Carver MN Homes for Sale

The Carver MN home inventory is small, as you would expect from a town of this size. At the time of this writing,* there were only 26 single family homes listed on the Northstar Regional MLS system. Average list price was $349,573. However, this statistic is rather meaningless because the market here is so diverse. If you tour the center of town, you will see turn-of-the century Carver MN homes boasting Historic and Original Brick Queen Anne Architecture. Many of these beauties are thoroughly upgraded with amenities like new mechancials and lower level in-floor radiant heat. Fast-forward to the 21st century and discover a selection of quality custom-built homes by Lennar, Ryan Homes, or Hans Hagen. Upscale homes by quality builders like J Philips Construction in the Carver Bluffs, Carver Creek, or Carver Ridge addition.
