If you visit the official website for Waconia MN City Hall, you will see a slogan says “Out of water… comes life.” This short phrase is an apt description. This community of 10,000 people is home to Lake Waconia, which is the largest lake in Carver County and surrounding communites, with the exception of Lake Minnetonka. Lake Minnetonka is crowded with boat traffic; Lake Waconia is not. No doubt, the western migration to this town is inspired largely by this 2,996 acre body of water. Water clarity is about five feet, and there are plenty of fish lurking under the surface. Averages for numbers and sizes of northern pike are above those of similar Minnesota lakes. If you head for the rock piles on the southeast end of town with a shiner and a slip-bobber, you might be eating fresh walleye for dinner. Consider a home purchase on Lake Waconia. You will have more time to fish. More fishing means more walleye on your dinner plate. There are also some fine real estate listings in the Waconia Landing neighborhood that provides deeded access to its members. The lake alone is plenty of reason for buying Waconia MN homes.

This community boasts a downtown area with an old-town charm. The green and leafy streets of the city grace shady avenues lined with dignified Victorian style homes. The outer reaches of the city, especially along the west side of the lake.
The city may have an atmosphere, but the modern world certainly not bypassed this community either.
